Have you noticed how bodybuilders and power lifters do not seem to be in the same gyms with everyone else? You will notice a few of them in many of the normal places, but the bulk of them end up together in just a few places around town. The reason, they learned the most important of the muscle building tips from the experts. Avoid the fancy new machines, and get back to the basics.

Your normal fitness gym is filled with all kinds of fancy weight lifting machines. They have machines to tone your chest, your abdomen, your legs, your buttocks, and every other body part. The machines do a great job for normal people, but when you want to go beyond normal and have massive results the machines can be your enemy.

When you ask the strongest men, the most massively muscled men, for their muscle building tips they will always tell you to find a great gym with tons of free weights. Free weights, barbells, dumbbells, and kettle bells give you better results than machines, every time. The reason this is true is due to engaging more muscles for balance, support, and control. With a machine you can focus on just the one muscle, which sounds great, but then all of those small supporting muscles never get the workout they need. When you want to be massive with all the striations and the ripped appearance, you want all of those muscles to grow. This is only possible with free weights.

There is another huge reason the guys congregate to only a few places, mindset. People in a normal gym are there to get fit, to add a little muscle, and do not understand your needs. Bodybuilders and power lifters are unique. They are in the gym to crush the weights, to make their bodies submit to their minds, to go to places most men will never venture. You are willing to take more pain, exert more energy, and to fuel your body in special ways to get results. Only by being surrounded by other people with your same beliefs, values, and desires can you push yourself to excel even further. Your mind is key to your continued efforts and success.

Imagine going up to an instructor in most training centers and asking about the proper supplements to build massive muscles. They are probably going to look at you with a little confusion on their face, and tell you to eat a normal diet, but add a little extra protein. When you ask them what exercise to do, they will point to the shiny machines. At a bodybuilders gym you will hear talk about nitric oxide, creatine, amino acids, protein supplements, testosterone boosters, and other supplements. You will hear the guys talk about pushing through pain, hitting new personal bests, trying for one more rep. They will spot the weight for you and shout in your face to power through one more rep. It is an intense experience filled with excitement, and passion to grow.

When you are surrounded by other lifters you will be hearing muscle building tips all day. You will do more personal research, study your own body, and be sharing ideas with all the guys who share your passion. The biggest tip, stay away from those aerobics and fitness gyms, find the halls of iron, and join the heavy hitters.
